New Typar® ClingScape™ Means Landscaping On Slopes And Hills
Is Simple And Long-Lasting

Struggling to keep mulch in its place on hills and slopes is a chore of the past with the introduction of Typar® ClingScape™, an innovative new product from the Typar® Landscape Products Family. The 100 percent polypropylene nonwoven fabric has patent-pending clinging fibers that snag the mulch to hold it in place. New Typar ClingScape helps keep mulch in its place on inclines, slopes and hills, while it also blocks weeds to help your landscaped area look attractive.

Typar ClingScape has clinging fibers that help keep mulch from sliding downhill when it rains or the wind blows. Mulch stays in its place to help retain the moisture needed by plants and to help keep plant roots cooler. Typar ClingScape is porous to allow air, water and nutrients through, so the soil can be healthy and the roots of desired plants can have access to the ingredients necessary for their growth, unlike products such as black plastic that don’t breathe. The pores in Typar ClingScape are small enough to inhibit weed root growth, however. (Occasionally, a weed will begin growing in the mulch on top of the fabric, but it’s usually easy to pull because its roots are only as deep as the mulch. In fact, for your desired plants to grow, you must cut an “x” in the fabric and plant through it.) Typar ClingScape resists tearing, punctures and rotting, and its performance is guaranteed when it’s installed properly.

Typar ClingScape is easy to install. After removing anything such as rocks or clumps of vegetation that would create a bulge, simply unroll it over inclines, slopes and hillsides with the clinging fibers up. For ease of installation, secure the sides with Typar® Fabric Pegs, dirt or stones. Cut an “x” over existing plants, roll back the folds and gently bring the plants through the fabric so that Typar ClingScape settles at the base of their stems. (If the area is being newly landscaped, cut an “x” in the fabric where bushes or flowers are to be located before planting them.) Once plants are brought through, cover the fabric with 3 or 4 inches of mulch to protect it from breaking down under the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Start at the bottom of the slope, and work your way up from side to side, 1 to 2 feet at a time.

New Typar ClingScape is available in two roll sizes: 3-feet by 50-feet and
4-feet by 250-feet rolls.
