Typar TreeCircle is a circle of Typar Landscape Fabric, a product that has been used in landscaped areas for years. The die-cut fabric has a round hole in the center and a slit, making it easy to place around a tree or shrub. Unlike black plastic, Typar TreeCircle is porous to water, air and nutrients; this porosity means that water will not pool on top of the fabric to cause mildew or a "sour" smell but will go through to the soil. Typar TreeCircle is strong and durable, and, when covered with the mulch of your choice to protect it from the sun's rays, it will last indefinitely. Although it is inexpensive to begin with, Typar TreeCircle's long-term durability makes it an even more superb value.

Many homeowners dislike weeds because they are unattractive. Weeds growing around trees and shrubs can significantly detract from the landscape design and can add countless maintenance hours to what should be a simple, relaxing hobby. Installing Typar TreeCircle is easy. Simply clear the area around your tree or shrub of grass clumps and other objects to create a smooth surface. Place Typar TreeCircle flush on the ground, centering it around the tree trunk or shrub base. If you wish to have plants around the base of the tree or shrub, cut an "x" in the fabric and pull existing plants or plant new ones through the hole you've cut. Then cover Typar TreeCircle with three to four inches of organic mulch, such as hardwood chips, or inorganic mulch, such as stone. Occasionally, an aggressive weed will grow in the mulch over Typar TreeCircle, but it is usually easy to pull.
